Collaborating to Keep Michigan Patient Care Safe

Hurley Medical Center is a member of the Michigan Hospital Association. Hurley participates in several of the Michigan Hospital Association Keystone Center projects and Safe Tables. Safe Table is a MHA Keystone Center member-only, shared learning meeting of healthcare peers to exchange patient safety experiences, discuss best practices and learn in an open, uninhibited environment. MHA Keystone projects have include reducing hospital associated infections, eliminating preventable harm to mothers giving birth and their newborns, and reducing readmissions. For more information learn about the MHA Keystone Center.

Hurley voluntarily participates in many Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan collaborative quality initiatives (CQI’s) focusing on the most common and costly areas of surgical and medical care. Michigan physicians and hospital partners develop and administer CQIs. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network fund and support these. CQIs work to improve quality and develop best practices, focus on areas of care that are highly technical, rapidly evolving and associated with scientific uncertainty. Most of these initiatives are managed by the University of Michigan if you would like more information click on this link: http://www.uofmhealth.org/quality-safety/quality-partnerships
