Breast augmentation surgery
Hurley Medical Center offers breast augmentation surgery for reconstructive purposes after breast cancer surgery (for example), to correct a breast defect, to increase breast size, or to achieve a younger, more natural appearance. Hurley’s plastic surgeons and surgical team will thoroughly answer your questions, address any concerns or apprehension you may have, and help you decide if breast augmentation surgery is right for you.

Breast reduction surgery
Hurley Medical Center offers breast reduction surgery to decrease breast size and lift the breasts. Colon and Rectal Surgery

Our surgeons offer advanced surgical and minimally invasive (laparoscopic) options. In fact, Hurley’s colorectal surgeons are among the area’s most successful providers of laparoscopic procedures. Head and Neck Surgery

Early identification and treatment of oral, head and neck disorders means a higher rate of positive outcomes. We encourage you to see an ear, nose and throat (ENT or otolaryngology) specialist if you are experience problematic symptoms such as unusual lumps or sudden, unexplained pain. In many cases, and with early detection of problems, we can use minimally invasive techniques that result in reduced pain and faster recoveries.

Minimally Invasive Surgery

Minimally invasive surgery (MIS) has become the standard of care for many procedures and has become widely accepted in nearly all specialties, often replacing traditional open surgery.

Ophthalmological Surgery

Our ophthalmologists are experienced surgeons who use the most modern technologies, including laser surgery, to perform operations that correct problems and promote faster recovery, while minimizing the amount of pain experienced by the patient. The majority of our procedures can be done on an outpatient basis and do not require an overnight stay at the hospital.

Outpatient Surgery

Pediatric Surgery

The Pediatric Surgery Department at Hurley Medical Center provides the highest quality care for young patients requiring surgery. Affiliated with Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit, Hurley can accommodate all pediatric surgical needs. Most pediatric procedures are performed here at Hurley but occasionally the expertise of Children’s Hospital of Michigan is needed.

Hurley pediatric surgeons perform inpatient and outpatient surgeries, as well as pre-surgical testing and patient consultations to determine the need for an operation. Consultations and preparation for surgeries are also conducted at Hurley Pediatric Surgery Clinic on Linden Road.

Robotic Surgery

At Hurley Medical Center, surgeons and physicians have adopted the da Vinci robotic Surgical System for a wide range of surgical procedures. Da Vinci’s advanced level of technology takes surgery beyond the limits of the human hand. This da Vinci Surgical System compliments our goal of extending minimally invasive surgery to the broadest base of patients including but not limited to: cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal), hysterectomies, myomectomies, hiatal and hernia repairs, removal of one or both adrenal glands, GERD related diagnoses (Reflux), and esophageal stricture.

The da Vinci Surgical System offers

Thoracic Surgery

The thoracic surgeons of Hurley Medical Center are highly trained, board certified and very experienced in this complex area of surgery. In addition to traditional open surgical techniques, our surgeons often pursue minimally invasive surgical options when appropriate.

Level I verification is the highest credential possible from the American College of Surgeons (ACS) for any trauma center. The Hurley Trauma Center is affiliated with the University of Michigan Health Center and provides immediate response by a highly specialized, in-house team of trauma professionals 24 hours per day, every day of the year.

Trauma is a time-sensitive condition, and the Hurley Trauma Center has the speed, efficiency and experience to deal with the most intense demands of a critically injured patient.


Urologic Surgery

Hurley Medical Center provides full-spectrum surgical treatment for men with prostate, testicular or other urologic conditions. In many cases, including the most complicated medical conditions, treatment can be provided using minimally invasive surgical techniques that reduce recovery times, promote faster healing and lead to positive patient outcomes.
