Pediatric Psychologist
Dr. Ellens is passionate about improving the health and well-being of children and families through collaboration and innovative problem-solving. She is dedicated to addressing the social, developmental, behavioral, and psychological factors impacting children’s health. Dr. Ellens provides evidence-based pediatric psychology services; collaborating with medical teams throughout Hurley to help kids reach their health goals. Whether in the hospital, primary care settings, or outpatient therapy office, Dr. Ellens helps children and families cope with new medical conditions, manage behavioral challenges, and promote healthy development. In 2022, Dr. Ellens was recognized with the Emerging Pioneer Award by the Michigan Psychological Association.

In addition to her clinical interests, Dr. Ellens is a core faculty member of Hurley’s Pediatric Residency Program where she works with future pediatricians to learn about children’s development, behavior and mental health. Dr. Ellens is also a supporter of scholarly activity, supporting trainees in their research endeavors and contributing to national presentations and publications in the area of pediatric psychology.
